Welcome from 2021 PCMA SE President

Dear PCMA SE Community,

Welcome to 2021 —  a New Year that has already been filled with many positive new changes including an all-important COVID vaccine. The COVID-19 illness is very real, and personally affected my life last August when my husband, Dr. Frank Lockwood, succumbed to this disease.  Frank was a Family Physician treating patients with COVID when he contracted the disease himself. After 5 weeks of top quality care there was just nothing more that could be done to save the life of the man who had taken the medical oath to save the lives of others.

I am keenly aware of the safety precautions needed to ensure safe, in-person meetings whenever possible. It is also important that PCMA SE recognize that there are members who are not comfortable meeting in-person. Whenever it is fiscally possible, we will adjust our events to accommodate all members everywhere including our member states of: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

The majority of our chapter’s funding is derived from Sponsorships. Our events and programs could not be possible without the support of our sponsors.

Our Chapter is very appreciative of our longtime sponsors and supporters:

  • Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • Cobb Travel & Tourism
  • Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation
  • Shepard

There are NEW opportunities to sponsor our chapter available this year, including fully customizable packages that include, but are not limited to:

  • Inclusion in our chapter’s weekly e-blasts
  • Addressing our members in-person or virtually at our educational programs and events
  • Social media campaigns

Through these types of sponsorships, you have the opportunity to reach or be exposed to nearly 1,000 meeting professionals across our chapter’s region, and make an impact in a meaningful way.

Ready to secure your 2021 sponsorship? Please contact me asap so that I may personally introduce you to our chapter’s Director of Sponsorship, Brad Minton with the Atlanta CVB.  He has so many ideas for creative and meaningful sponsorships with our chapter — don’t miss out!

To all of the PCMA SE members, volunteers, sponsors, and contributors, I give my heartfelt thank you for your participation.

Interested in getting involved? A PCMA membership is invaluable; and if needed, PCMA is continuing to offer concessions for those experiencing hardships. You may also learn more about PCMA membership by contacting our chapter’s dynamite, NEW Membership Director, Neil Hibbert.

Whatever the future brings, we look forward to a very successful 2021 with YOU!

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to respond to our Membership Needs Assessment Survey.  It won’t take long, and your opinion will help us to craft meaningful events for all of our members.

Thank you,
Bernie
