Congratulations to the PCMA Southeast Chapter 2021 Volunteer of the Quarter (Q1): Patricia Giannini Henry, CAE, CMP, CEM

Thank you Visit Music City and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation for sponsoring the PCMA Southeast Chapter Volunteer of the Quarter and the Year program. Patricia Giannini Henry, CAE, CMP, CEM, Director of Events, APCO International was the recipient of our Volunteer of the Quarter award for the first quarter 2021.

Patricia currently serves on our Central Florida Programs committee; and was a driving force behind our recent return to in-person program we hosted on March 23, 2021. We asked Patricia about her volunteer experience, and here is what she had to say:

Why do you volunteer with PCMA?
Events are my passion and I love meeting new people and learning from them. Volunteering to assist with the Central Florida events has really allowed me to do all those things. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and want to get involved more.

What inspires you most about volunteering?
I am inspired by the commitment from each PCMA volunteer and the partners that we work with to support the meetings and events industry. Especially in the midst of COVID, it has been truly inspiring to see how the entire events and meetings industry has come together for one another.

What would you say to other PCMA members to get them involved?
Start small. For most of us, it can be overwhelming to add something else to an already packed schedule, but figure out what time of day or year works best for you and work with your local chapter on how you can help at those times. Plus, giving back always feels good, and who doesn’t like that!
