November Program Panel Recap

Jon Sullivan ~ Regional Panel Expert

GRACE co-founders Jon & Angie King Sullivan were honored to participate in an expert panel setting at PCMA Southeast Chapter’s November meeting. The meeting successfully increased awareness of global and local human trafficking statistics. The panel discussed interventions and offer opportunities for the hospitality industry to join in eradicating the vulnerabilities.

The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) posted the following regarding the panel discussion: “It is absolutely imperative that the meetings and travel industry take a stand against human trafficking, as it follows our industry closely, especially our large conventions and sporting events. The statistics that our expert panel is sharing are staggering… Thank you to the Atlanta Dream Center and GRACE for the life-changing work you are doing to raise awareness and provide safety for human trafficking victims. It is time to open our eyes and align against this modern form of slavery.

There is a continual need to increase awareness relative to human trafficking as the general public is blind to the hidden, but in plain sight, issue. The international labor organization reports human trafficking industry profits approximately $150 billion annually with approximately 24.9 million victims trapped in modern day slavery (Sept 2017).

We are grateful for the many attendees brought dental hygiene bags for the children of GRACE in Thailand.
