Central Florida Education Event – Thank You

While audio-visual may sometimes be considered an afterthought, it is truly a critical pillar that supports the success of meetings and events. OPAV’s Tony Brinkman, Vice President of Business Development and Brian Gordon, National Director of Sales and many others on staff took time on Wednesday, March 30 to showcase the importance of AV to the meeting professionals at PCMA Southeast Chapter’s educational series at their company office/warehouse in Orlando. This “Behind the Scenes” lunch and learn brought into focus a somewhat complex subject matter.  Attendees were provided insight into the vast world of audio-visual vernacular, set up and capabilities including cameras, sound, lighting and special effects. Suffice it to say that every meeting professional should partner with an AV supplier who is knowledgeable about all aspects of the service especially when delving into multifaceted productions. Experience definitely matters! All the OPAV staff were incredibly skilled and well-informed. Learning how to best partner with an Audiovisual Production supplier on developing an RFP was extremely insightful, as well as being introduced to the terminology required to understand a proposal and invoice. This educational series most assuredly shed a lot of light on the world of AV and provided clock hours for attendees.

With Toronto temps hovering around 5 degrees, Destination Toronto’s Vinita Das, Account Director and Meredith Donaghey, Sales Director, U.S. Market, Destination Toronto, were happy to be in Central Florida and shared details of that city’s popularity as a meeting destination. Business events are back and the borders are open. Toronto is vibrant, connected and globally inspired. Transport to Toronto by viewing the video here.
