While the Metaverse is still considered in its infancy, all experts agree that it will transform live events and that it will be the bridge between our digital and physical lives. Some important technological advancements have been made recently and multiple major players in the events industry are investing heavily in this new platform as it is deemed by most to be the next frontier for live events. Dive deeper into the Chapter and learn how to get involved by being a volunteer. Come ready to learn about increasing your value to the Chapter and the industry at our volunteer fair during the networking time prior to the lunch/educational session.

LEARNERS OUTCOMES:

*The Metaverse and its many uses, virtual and hybrid events, and why you should care about this next phase of the internet.

Kendra Nicholls, CoreNet Global’s Strategic Content Manager, has a diverse background in Journalism, Media, and Events. Kendra recently finished a master’s degree in International Event and Conference Management from the UK’s leading events programs at Sheffield Hallam University. Completing an events degree during a time when live events couldn’t be held was challenging, however, it opened new doors and led to an interest in virtual events, and the use of AR/VR technology to make these virtual events more interactive and immersive. This interest has only continued to grow, especially with the inception of the Metaverse and Kendra is looking forward to share her expertise and knowledge with you.
